Another Angle's 24-Hour NYC Trip

Another Angle just got back from a one-day NYC trip (yet it's a 22-hour flight one way!) to cover a basketball topic...

AA, of course, managed to sneak off to conduct "market research" (shopping) in downtown NYC!
The first stop, Opening Ceremony, came as a bit of a surprise size-wise when I entered  because the Tokyo store is at least 4 times the size of its original NYC flagship. Having said that, OC was where I found the most memorable fashion piece from my 24-hour NYC trip. Some of you may have already seen this...

...behold, the Tron Legacy inspired Opening Ceremony yellow tulip dress!

Fox and Fawn
570 Manhattan Avenue,
Brooklyn, NY 11222

I tried to make it to hip Brooklyn vintage / second hand store Fox and Fawn to snag some bargains but did not have time so I suppose I'll just update myself on their blog before I make my next trip to NYC in March!

Babel Fair Boutique
260 Elizabeth St.
New York, NY 10012

This shop was also on my target list. This cutting-edge Nolita boutique was founded by fashionable wanderlust traveller Erica Kiang and carries designers from all over the globe at fairly affordable prices.

...until March...

Update: Armani Jeans Ambassador Rafael Nadal

Following my previous post about tennis champion Rafael Nadal signing up for Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani underwear, the AJ campaign is now revealed.

His best assets showed off (remember his constant wedgie on court?) and he looks every bit of the Armani model he is.

Bravo Armani house!

Lady Gaga Soundtrack for House of Mugler

The much anticipated Lady Gaga song and short film for house of Mugler is finally out!

The soundtrack was remixed by Gaga herself especially for Nicola Formichetti's first menswear show for Mugler. In case some of you do not know already, Formichetti isGaga's personal stylist and the power behind her fashion throne.
The coca cola cans, the cigarette sunglasses, the meat costume... yes, all him.

"I love him, my friend the genius, my collaborator, more more than any piece of clothing or closet I possess. But don't tell him I said that, he'll die. He picked them all out," she said in a statement at the show.

The Shot that Never Made US Vogue September '07 Issue

Coco Rocha featured an unpublished image that was shot for Vogue September 2007 issue in her blog. Shot by Steven Meisel, the picture was loved by Grace Coddington but not by Anna Wintour...
...therefore it never made it to print.

One word: Decadence.

Global "It" Girls Gather for Louis Vuitton's Spring 2011 Jewellery Lookbook

Ever the trend-leader among luxury brands, Louis Vuitton steps up as the first again to feature today's "it" girls in its most recent spring 2011 jewellery lookbook.
Only this brand can place a Hollywood starlet alongside a "party girl", an athlete alongside an artist, rock royalty alongside a London aristocrat, and pack them together in one chain of Vuitton command within its cozy little collection lookbook. Bravo.

Billie Porter, London Reporter and "party girl"
Rinko Kikuchi, Hollywood Actress

Alexandra Richards, daughter of Keith Richards
Mary Charteris, London Aristocrat

Annabelle Dexter Jones, Artist
Daria Schieferstein, Tennis Player

Natalie Love, Actress
Zhu Zhu, Shanghai TV Presenter

New Face of Miss Dior Cherie: Natalie Portman

Soon-to-be mother and Golden Globes winner Natalie Portman will be featured in the new Miss Dior Cherie ad campaign. Directed by Sophia Coppola for the third campaign, the print ad and  TV commercial will officially launch in March.

An unexpected but fitting choice; she plays the sweet-sultry girl amazingly in this campaign.

Kate Moss and Lea T Lock Lips on Love Magazine

Katie Grand does it again! Love Magazine's newest androgyny issue features Kate Moss locking lips with transgender model (and Ricardo Tisci's muse) Lea T on its cover.
A playful touch to style Kate as the man and Lea as the woman.

Rumors say Justin Bieber will be on one of this issue's covers. I highly anticipate the revealing of Katie working her magic on the teen sensation.

Emmanuelle Alt Appointed as Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue

On 7th January 2011, French Vogue officially announced that Emmanuelle Alt will take over as editor-in-chief for French Vogue.

We all know who she is, current fashion director at French Vogue. What some of you may not know is that girlfriend was appointed as fashion director of ELLE at the age of 20 back in the nineties! Speaking of an early bloomer!

"It is a great honour for me, and also a great pleasure, to arrive at the head of Vogue Paris which I know so well," Alt was quoted on Vogue UK. "By working with such a talented team, I am confident of developing the incredible potential of the magazine.

Salivating in anticipation for her debut issue.

A fresh approach to let us see the behind-the-scenes before launching the final work.

2011 Brand Ambassadors

WWD officially announced that Miss Va-Va-Voom-Chest-and-Legs Blake Lively, also known as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, is Chanel's new brand ambassador.
Time to practice more poses other than your signature hand-on-hip Miss Lively.

Not a surprise, considering Chanel has been represented by a lot of young celebrities for the past few seasons. I'm more surprised about Nadal being Armani's next brand ambassador!

Rafael Nadal is the next model for Emporio Armani Underwear (previous campaigns featured sports heart-throbs David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo) and Armani Jeans for SS11.

I hope Armani will be able to transform Nadal just as how Vogue transformed Andy Murray.
